Team Disco Marine members of Anthony Duff and Jason Disson have weighed in a record breaking bag of bream at the recent Clarence Valley Sports Fishing Club Teams Event.

Anthony and Jason took advantage of the early winter bite to continually upgrade their bag throughout the session and present a bag of 5 Yellowfin Bream at the scales with a combined weight of an amazing 5.230 kilograms. Jason also took home the Big Bream prize with a weight of 1.285 kilograms.

The winning bag was not only a Club Record but is also the biggest bag weight ever recorded for a Bream Tournament on the Clarence River system.  Anthony described the win as an “absolute cracking day on the water.” “It was a strange feeling for us when were throwing back 900 gram bream because they’re too small.”

Anthony and Jason have been fishing as a team for a number of years and attribute their success not just to teamwork but also to the amount of fun they have on the water. “We always make sure we are enjoying our time on the water and there is usually more banter aimed at each other than at the other teams.”

Team Disco Marine are now looking to back up their winning performance at the Clarence Valley Sports Fishing Club Open event to be held over the June long weekend at the same Clarence River arena. With teams vying for a prize purse expected to exceed $2000 they are sure to be closely watched and will face plenty of stiff competition.
